To bring my personal creative practice into a communal space is to invite collective ritual. When my words, often channeled by ancestors and other spirits, are shared in public they can have significant impacts on the community. This space is where I like to create, play, and experiment with ways to influence collective consciousness toward healing and liberation. I’ve been writing poetry and performing words since middle school, and I’m excited to currently be working on a multimedia memoir. It is beautiful to be performing pieces from it while in process.
